In „Typecast for Life“, sitzen alte Hexen, traurige Pierrots und hilflose Jungfrauen herum und warten, bis ihre Nummer aufgerufen wird. Von Charaktertiefe träumen sie nur, ihre Rollen bestimmt das Genre. Bis die Ordnung sich auflöst und die Wände zu den anderen Warteräumen durchlässig werden. Worauf dann noch gewartet wird, ist nicht mehr ganz sicher.
Marijpol, auch bekannt als Marie Pohl, arbeitet als Künstlerin mit Comic und Zeichnung. In ihren Werken geht es oft um Körper, Einsamkeit, Fürsorge und Rollenbilder als Fiktionen, die Wirklichkeit erzeugen. Marijpol lebt in Hamburg und ist seit 2025 Professorin für Comic und Illustration an der Kunsthochschule Kassel.

In "Typecast for Life“, old witches, sad Pierrots, and helpless maidens sit around waiting for their number to be called. They only dream of character depth; their roles are dictated by the genre. Until the order dissolves and the walls to the other waiting rooms become permeable. What they are waiting for then is no longer entirely clear.
Marijpol, also known as Marie Pohl, works as an artist with comics and drawings. Her works often explore themes of the body, loneliness, caregiving, and role models as fictions that create reality. Marijpol lives in Hamburg and has been a Professor for Comics and Illustration at the Kassel School of Art and Design since 2025.
